For a long time, these stories lived in sketchbooks and scattered notes full of words and images. One by one, they became books – each with its own voice, its own rhythm, its own small world. Now, I’ve given them a different kind of life through a short video.
This new video is not just a showcase – it’s a glimpse into the spirit of the work.
Over time, I’ve written and illustrated a collection of children’s books – twelve in total. Each one began in a slightly different way: sometimes with a character who refused to leave my mind, sometimes with a simple question, sometimes with an image that seemed to ask for a story to accompany it. What they all share is a sense of fun and a desire to connect with young readers.
Illustrating these books has always been as important to me as writing them. The images aren’t just there to decorate the text – they carry meaning, mood, and often parts of the story that words alone can’t fully express. Creating them is a process of discovery: sketching, reworking, simplifying, and sometimes starting again entirely.
Two of the books have also found a new life in Spanish, which has been a particularly rewarding step. Seeing the stories move across languages – and imagining them reaching children in different places – adds another layer of meaning to the work.
These books are for young readers, of course, but also for the people who share stories with them: parents, grandparents, teachers. They’re for quiet moments, for bedtime, for laughter, and for those small questions children ask that don’t always have simple answers.
Below is the video, a fun glimpse into the books:
More than anything, I hope it gives a sense of the world these stories inhabit.
If it resonates with you, feel free to share it with someone who might enjoy it, or take a closer look at the books themselves. Stories grow in unexpected ways when they’re passed from one person to another, and it’s always a pleasure to see where they travel next.
